What is a Health Coach?

You can think of a  health coach as your non-judgmental, unconditional and supportive personal health cheerleader, guide and partner.

We have studies on diet, lifestyle, and nutrition and how all these affect the body. These helps us understand the root cause of clients health challenges so we can provide guidance and accountability on what works and what doesn’t in reaching your health goals.

We can help you sort out where to start or get you “unstuck” by helping you figure out what’s keeping you from reaching your health goals. Then, we can recommend and support you to implement gradual lifestyle and nutritional changes to achieve or improve your health goals.

We may help you discover the most effective way to feel mentally and physically sharp throughout the day so you can accomplish more. You may hire a health coach to help you achieve a wellness goal like optimizing your sleep. Or you may hire a health coach to support you with implementing protocols that have either been prescribed by a clinician or nutritionist/dietitian or to support you in managing a chronic health issue like hypothyroidism. We are also able to spot health-related red flags and refer you to a physician or mental health professional.

One study found  found that people who went through three months of health coaching significantly improved blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose (blood sugar), triglycerides (blood fat), body weight and cardiovascular fitness.

Through Health Coaching people can understand their diagnosis and treatment plan, get support with the difficult emotions that can result from a chronic illness, and hold them accountable as they take steps to manage or reverse the disease.

As Health Coaches we take a holistic view on health so clients may see benefits that go beyond their initial focus area. Clients may initially hire a Health Coach to implement an optimal bed time routine, then may start to exercise or develop consistent meditation practices. Switching to a healthier lifestyle can affect everything. With increased health, energy and motivation, you’ll be able to do more, be there for others and live your life to the fullest.
